Aroostook Savings & Loan Named One of the 2026 Best Places to Work in Maine

Aroostook Savings & Loan has been named one of the 2026 Best Places to Work in Maine, recognizing the locally owned mutual financial institution for its commitment to its employees, members, and the Aroostook County communities it has served for 90 years.

The Best Places to Work in Maine program recognizes outstanding employers throughout the state. Participating companies are evaluated through a combination of employer information and employee feedback, making the recognition especially meaningful because employees have a direct voice in the process.

Celebrating Our People During Our 90th Anniversary

The recognition comes during a milestone year for Aroostook Savings & Loan, which is celebrating 90 years of serving the people of Aroostook County in 2026.

Since 1936, generations of employees have helped shape the Association into what it is today—a local financial institution built around personal relationships, local decision-making, and a genuine commitment to helping friends and neighbors.

While banking has changed considerably over nine decades, one thing has remained constant: our people are at the heart of everything we do.

From helping a first-time homebuyer through one of life’s biggest decisions to assisting a local business owner, answering an everyday banking question, or simply taking the time to listen, our employees understand that good banking is about more than transactions. It is about relationships, trust, and being there when our members need us.

A Workplace Rooted in Aroostook County

Being a great place to work goes hand in hand with being a strong community bank.

Our employees do not simply work in Aroostook County—they live here, raise their families here, volunteer here, and care deeply about the future of the communities we share.

Throughout the year, members of our team can be found volunteering and participating in local events, supporting nonprofit organizations, celebrating Aroostook traditions, and helping causes that improve the quality of life for our friends and neighbors.

That includes longtime involvement with initiatives such as Feed The County, the Northern Maine Fair, the Maine Potato Blossom Festival, the Aroostook Savings & Loan Labor Day Caribou Viking Kids Run, local schools, youth programs, community organizations, and many other efforts throughout Aroostook County.

It is a reflection of something we believe strongly: when local people, businesses, and organizations support one another, the entire community becomes stronger.

Truly Aroostook

That philosophy is also at the heart of our Truly Aroostook campaign.

Truly Aroostook celebrates the people, businesses, organizations, and everyday acts of kindness that make Aroostook County unlike anywhere else. It highlights the neighbors who step up when someone needs help, the entrepreneurs who invest in their hometowns, the volunteers who give their time, and the local organizations working every day to make Aroostook County a better place to live.

Our employees are part of that story.

They bring the same values to work each day that make Aroostook County special—hard work, kindness, loyalty, resourcefulness, and a willingness to help one another.

More Than an Award

Being named one of the 2026 Best Places to Work in Maine is an honor, but more importantly, it is an opportunity to recognize the people behind Aroostook Savings & Loan.

Our employees are the reason members are greeted by familiar faces. They are the reason decisions can be made locally by people who understand this community. And they are the reason we have been able to continue growing and evolving while remaining true to the values on which Aroostook Savings & Loan was founded 90 years ago.

As we celebrate this milestone anniversary and look toward the future, we are grateful for every employee—past and present—who has contributed to our story.

To our team: thank you for making Aroostook Savings & Loan not only a great place to bank, but one of Maine’s Best Places to Work.

And to our members and communities throughout Aroostook County: thank you for allowing us to continue doing what we have done since 1936—Helping Your Friends and Neighbors.
