Job Description:
Aroostook Savings & Loan offers an excellent opportunity for a Chief Lending & Business Development Officer. In this pivotal role, you will support the President/CEO by providing leadership, direction, and guidance in developing and implementing lending policies and procedures. This role is crucial for managing and expanding our lending department, as well as growing our loan portfolio. Aroostook Savings & Loan has been a pillar of support in our community since 1936.
- Serve as principal advisor to the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors on lending strategies, credit risk management, and both commercial and real estate lending.
- Establish and maintain guidelines and policies for the precise and prompt servicing of the institution’s loan portfolios, including loan documentation, funding, closing processes, and servicing.
- Lead efforts with executive management to develop and implement appropriate lending products and services.
- Drive portfolio growth by effectively planning, developing, and executing lending strategies.
- Evaluate both existing and potential client relationships for credit quality, structure and pricing.
- Maintain the integrity of the loan portfolio, devising long-term strategies that will include initiatives such as portfolio mix, growth strategies, and market penetration objectives.
- Ensure the accuracy of the risk rating system.
- Develop and implement systems, risk controls, policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements, institutional policies, and objective targets.
- Monitor and manage the institution’s portfolio, reporting on its performance and any concerns to senior management.
- Engage actively within the community.
- As a member of the management team, actively engage in executive discussions, making and contributing to recommendations on key policy decisions.
- Promote and develop new business for the institution.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) with seven to ten years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive leadership, supervisory, and managerial experience and skills.
- Expertise in Commercial and Consumer Lending practices, including loan documentation, processing, underwriting, and disbursement.
- Active NMLS registration, in compliance with the SAFE Act.
