CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Job Description Aroostook Savings & Loan offers an excellent opportunity for a professional, friendly Customer Service Representative to join our community banking team. This role serves as the primary point of telephone contact for customers, providing exceptional service while processing transactions and addressing banking needs with accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct to the appropriate personnel
- Assist customers with account transfer requests, online banking questions, bill pay issues, and remote deposit capture
- Manage appraisal ordering
- Process accurate account transfers and other financial transactions
- Assist customers with account inquiries, statement questions, and basic banking services
- Identify opportunities to recommend bank products and services based on customer needs
- Balance cash drawer daily and maintain accurate transaction records
- Assist daily deposit operation function
- Follow all bank security procedures and compliance regulations
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
- Maintain customer confidentiality and adhere to banking privacy requirements
- All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
- 1+ year of customer service experience
- Strong math skills and attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous banking or financial services experience
- Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements
- Bilingual skills (English/French) beneficial for serving our local community
- Experience with core banking software
- Cash handling experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand/sit for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 20 pounds
- Manual dexterity for cash handling and keyboard use
Work Environment
- Professional office setting in a community bank branch
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday morning rotation
- May require travel between branch locations in Caribou and Presque Isle

Job Description
Aroostook Savings & Loan offers an excellent opportunity for a Chief Lending & Business Development Officer. In this pivotal role, you will support the President/CEO by providing leadership, direction, and guidance in developing and implementing lending policies and procedures. This role is crucial for managing and expanding our lending department, as well as growing our loan portfolio. Aroostook Savings & Loan has been a pillar of support in our community since 1936.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as principal advisor to the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors on lending strategies, credit risk management, and both commercial and real estate lending.
- Establish and maintain guidelines and policies for the precise and prompt servicing of the institution’s loan portfolios, including loan documentation, funding, closing processes, and servicing.
- Lead efforts with executive management to develop and implement appropriate lending products and services.
- Drive portfolio growth by effectively planning, developing, and executing lending strategies.
- Evaluate both existing and potential client relationships for credit quality, structure and pricing.
- Maintain the integrity of the loan portfolio, devising long-term strategies that will include initiatives such as portfolio mix, growth strategies, and market penetration objectives.
- Ensure the accuracy of the risk rating system.
- Develop and implement systems, risk controls, policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements, institutional policies, and objective targets.
- Monitor and manage the institution’s portfolio, reporting on its performance and any concerns to senior management.
- Engage actively within the community.
- As a member of the management team, actively engage in executive discussions, making and contributing to recommendations on key policy decisions.
- Promote and develop new business for the institution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) with seven to ten years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive leadership, supervisory, and managerial experience and skills.
- Expertise in Commercial and Consumer Lending practices, including loan documentation, processing, underwriting, and disbursement.
- Active NMLS registration, in compliance with the SAFE Act.

FULL-TIME PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity? Aroostook Payroll, Inc. is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and reliable individual to join our payroll processing team.
Aroostook Payroll, Inc. is a subsidiary of Aroostook Savings & Loan and is locally owned and operated. Our office is located in the Presque Isle branch.
Duties: In this role, you will handle the processing of all clients’ payroll needs. Responsibilities include verifying payroll hours, generating paychecks, reconciling payroll data, and responding to client inquiries. You will also support additional daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks such as the preparation and filing of tax forms. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates will exhibit strong customer service orientation, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and a strict adherence to confidentiality. Candidates should be self-starters, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Requirements include a high school diploma, though at least 2 years of higher education is preferred. Experience in payroll processing is highly desirable.
