CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)

Aroostook Savings & Loan Association – CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)

Position Overview: The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the bank’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting the organization’s growth objectives through sound financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership
• Direct the development and execution of the bank’s financial strategy in alignment with organizational objectives
• Serve as a key advisor to senior management on financial matters, providing analysis and recommendations
• Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

Financial Management
• Oversee the bank’s financial statement preparation, prepare budget
• Cost analysis of new product projects
• Manage relationships with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial partners
• Direct the preparation and analysis of financial statements, regulatory reports including Interest rate risk, Call Report, CECL, and management reports including budget to actual comparisons with explanations of variances
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
• Monitor and analyze key financial metrics and performance indicators

Operational Excellence
• Optimize financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
• Oversee treasury management and cash flow operations
• Lead financial system implementations and upgrades
• Manage the annual audit process and regulatory examinations

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA/Master’s preferred
• CPA certification preferred
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in banking
• 5+ years of management experience leading teams
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements
• Expert knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis

Technical Skills:
• Expert level proficiency in financial software and banking systems
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and tools

Leadership Competencies:
• Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders

Working Conditions:
• Full-time position based at corporate headquarters (On-Site)
• Some travel required for meetings and conferences
• Extended hours may be required during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes

LOAN PROCESSOR

AROOSTOOK SAVINGS & LOAN ASSOCIATION

We are seeking to add an energetic individual to join our growing team as a full-time Loan Processor in our Caribou Operations Center. Our new team member will provide high quality customer service and will be responsible for producing accurate commercial, consumer and residential loan documentation from start to finish through our established systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and processing of commercial loan applications and all documents according to State and Federal laws, regulation and company policy
  • Preparation and processing of residential, consumer, indirect, and home equity loan applications and all related documents according to State and Federal laws, regulation and company policy
  • Accurate and timely disbursement of residential, consumer, indirect, home equity and commercial loan proceeds
  • Final documentation review, file setup and any post-closing follow-up required
  • Assisting with accurate and timely preparation of various State and County reports including but not limited to Title Release and Monthly Reporting; UCC Filing and Termination; Life and Disability reporting and reconciliation

Qualifications:

Successful applicants for this position must will have:

  • Experience in commercial, credit, retail or banking operations is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to change and meet multiple department deadlines
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet (MS Excel) and word processing (MS Word)

A high school diploma is required with 2+ years higher education preferred. Prior commercial loan processing is a plus as well as prior loan processing or paralegal experience and familiarity with legal and banking regulations including UCC/TRID/HUD.
